Begoña Ortiz is a Principal at Cometa, a Venture Capital firm focused on investing in early-stage technology companies within Spanish-speaking markets. Before her current role, she served as a Relationship Manager at Cometa. Begoña’s professional journey also includes her tenure as the General Director of Las Páginas Verdes, a social enterprise that promotes sustainable products and services, part of the New Ventures Group.

In addition to her role at Cometa, Begoña has made significant contributions to the impact investment space in Latin America. She led the Latin American Impact Investment Forum (FLII), an annual event that gathers key players in the region’s impact investing sector. Her career also spans roles in marketing at Unilever and public relations at Techo, showcasing her diverse experience in different business functions.

Begoña is actively involved in initiatives promoting women’s participation in investment teams, such as Mujeres Invirtiendo in Mexico and WeInvest at a regional level. She holds a Master’s degree in Business and Technology from Collective Academy and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, where she specialized in organizational communication.
