Dr. Jo North FIoL is the Innovation Ecosystems Director at Port of Tyne, Leader of the 2050 Maritime Innovation Hub and CEO of The Big Bang Partnership Ltd. Her leadership is marked by a strong emphasis on sustainable innovation, shaping the future of maritime operations. At the Port of Tyne, Jo is at the forefront of developing environmentally sustainable strategies, advancing the current state of the art in the industry. Jo founded and leads the industry’s now annual Maritime Innovation Week in Newcastle and London. In addition, she runs the Venture Connect Green Investment programme for cleantech and engineering start-ups in north east England. Jo’s book, Leading Sustainable Innovation, has recently been published by Kogan Page, and is available worldwide.
