Dr. Julio Madrigal Matute is a Ramón y Cajal researcher and Principal Investigator at the Universitat de València, where he leads the Autophagy and Onconutrition Lab. His research explores the interplay between autophagy, metabolism, nutrition, aging, and cancer, with a focus on translational applications. He received advanced training at leading institutions in Spain and the United States, including NYU and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Madrigal has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 37) and has led multiple national and international research projects. He is the co-founder and former CEO of IBIONS, a start-up developing AI-driven nutritional tools for cancer patients, and currently coordinates clinical trials in oncology nutrition. His work is recognized for its scientific rigor and innovative approach to personalized medicine.
An active mentor and science communicator, Dr. Madrigal has supervised numerous students and technicians, and is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences. He serves as a board member and evaluator for scientific organizations and journals, and is committed to bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and clinical practice through scalable, patient-centered solutions.
