Elaine Scott is an experienced sector and innovation ecosystem builder, currently serving as a Visiting Fellow at Durham University Business School (2023-24) and a DBA candidate researching innovation ecosystems. With over 20 years in economic development, she has supported technology companies in pioneering locations such as NETPark, North East England’s first science park, and has led the development of the regional space economy and advanced materials electronics cluster.
Elaine’s expertise extends to managing strategic partnerships and innovation programmes, particularly in her current role at the Port of Tyne and the 2050 Maritime Innovation Hub. She plays a key role in delivering decarbonisation and digitalisation transformation outcomes, working closely with partners, clients, and stakeholders to drive economic growth and skills development across the region and the UK.
