Spin-offs: A Joint Venture Between the University of Valencia and its Science Park.

Setting up spin-offs that spring out from academic knowledge can open up
a challenging path at the administrative level, but also for
scientists, who often need guidance and support to travel from a purely
academic career to embracing transfer of knowledge as part of their personal and professional goals.

Promoting transfer of knowledge through the generation of spin-offs is now a priority at the University of Valencia. It is part of the
structure of modern universities, and it and will surely contribute to strengthen the active role our institution
intends to play in knowledge-based enterprises. Once started, spin-offs at the Universitat de València find in its Science Park
(Parc Científic de la UV) a natural place to mature and grow, and their growth often involves high quality employment, using talent found at universities, which in turn reinforces the potential of the new
business venture.
