Salvador Sales is a Full Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) since 2007. He has led and participated in more than thirty European research projects, primarily focused on photonic technologies and advanced fiber optic sensing. His scientific publications have received over 10,000 citations, reflecting his significant contributions to the field.

In recent years, he has been actively supporting the growth of CalSens, a company he co-founded, which is currently expanding at a rate of over 20% annually. CalSens is dedicated to the development of novel fiber optic sensors, with applications in extreme environments and high-impact industrial and civil sectors.
