Salvador Coll

Vicerector for Innovation and Transfer, Polytechnic University of Valencia

Salvador Coll is Associate Professor in Electronic Technology and, since 2021, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). He also serves as Coordinator of RedOTC, the network of university knowledge transfer offices within CRUE Spanish Universities. His career includes management roles at the UPV Science Park, which he directed from 2013 to 2021, and early research experience at Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) in 2001.

Coll’s research centers on high-performance computing, with participation in over 30 research and transfer projects and more than 50 scientific and teaching contributions. As Vice-Rector, he leads UPV Innovación, the university’s flagship initiative to maximize the socio-economic and environmental impact of knowledge, focusing on strengthening technology transfer, supporting intellectual property, and fostering collaboration with industry.

He actively promotes UPV’s unique assets in microelectronics and photonics, such as the PERTE-Chip endowed chairs, UPVfab pilot line, and ICTS Micronanofab. These initiatives are advancing research and creating fertile ground for deeptech entrepreneurship, enabling the launch and growth of spin-offs and startups, fostering talent, and positioning UPV as a driver of economic development and innovation in the Valencia region and beyond.
