Valyra Aerospace designs, manufactures and commercializes European-produced fixed-wing VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to replace helicopters in naval defense, maritime security and logistics missions. Our aircraft are built to operate from ships, fly autonomously in harsh wind and rain conditions, and deliver capabilities comparable to helicopters at a fraction of the cost (up to 95% lower operating cost) while relying on a 100% European manufacturing network to avoid strategic dependence.

Many existing UAVs cannot withstand ship-based operations or adverse weather, and much of the market is produced outside Europe. Valyra addresses these gaps with rugged, ship-capable VTOL designs and advanced powertrain concepts. The team has developed four aircraft that integrate technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells and distributed propulsion to extend endurance and improve efficiency.

Founders include former researchers and professors from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and ex-ETRA lead engineers with more than five years’ experience building and operating fixed-wing UAVs. Valyra also benefits from a strong advisory board (including the former VP of Airbus Spain and the ex-CEO of Airbus Defense and Space Brasil) who are actively supporting market introduction.

Market validation comes from broad demand for sovereign UAV capabilities under Europe’s large rearmament programs and direct interest from government agencies such as the Spanish military police.
