Santiago Canalejo brings extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in strategy, marketing, operations, HR, logistics, IT, R&D, and finance, developed through years in both startups and established companies. Prior to entering venture capital, he spent 12 years in the food industry across Europe and the Americas, including as CEO of a manufacturing firm, where he managed launch, growth, and restructuring phases.

Earlier, Santiago spent 7 years in strategy consulting at Booz Allen & Hamilton, focusing on the Communications, Media & Technology sector across Europe, the Americas, and Africa. He is a two-time founder, active angel investor, and holds an MBA from IESE, having started his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen.

As a founding General Partner at TheVentureCity, Santiago helps exceptional founders scale by combining operational expertise with long-term investment strategy. He serves as a Board Member for several portfolio companies and has been a member of the Investment Committee since inception, advocating for larger scaleup funds and a long-term vision for financing in Spain and Europe.
