Head of capitalization, CDTI / Innvierte
Andrés Ubierna holds a degree in Economics from the University of the Basque Country and a PhD in Economics from the Carlos III University of Madrid. His professional journey began at Repsol YPF as a Risk Analyst, after which he joined the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (CDTI), leading research on Tech-Based Startups.
At CDTI, he played a key role in the venture capital area, managing the “Neotec Capital Riesgo” initiative and contributing to the design, launch, and management of the “Innvierte” program. His expertise spans tech investment, fundraising, and technology transfer, with a focus on supporting deep tech startups.
Since 2015, Andrés has headed the Research and Communication Department at CDTI, and since 2018, he has managed the Innvierte program as head of the Capitalization and Tech Transfer Division. He is recognized for his leadership in public-private co-investment and fostering innovation in Spain’s tech ecosystem.
