Managing Director, Startup-Verband
Christoph J. Stresing has been co-managing director of the German Startups Association (Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V.) since May 2019. In this role, he is responsible for politics, press relations, and research, shaping the association’s strategic direction and public presence.
Previously, Stresing served at the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK), where he led political communications and later acted as deputy managing director. He began his career after studying law in Würzburg, Salamanca, and Kiel, and passing his second state law examination at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, working as a research assistant in the German Bundestag.
Stresing has played a key role in advancing Germany’s startup ecosystem. He successfully initiated the first Startup Strategy of the German Federal Government and contributed to significant legal improvements of ESOP in Germany, strengthening the position of startups and their employees.
