This panel opens with a strategic reflection on how the capabilities of the aerospace sector—including satellite observation, unmanned systems (drones), and new technological solutions—are becoming decisive tools for the prevention, monitoring, and response to natural disasters.
Following recent phenomena such as the DANA storms, the Valencian Community has taken a significant step by committing to this strategic field, supporting the EMERVALSAT project under the European Space Agency’s funding call, along with two other autonomous communities.
This session will explore the role of innovation in emergency response, the use of satellite data, inter-institutional coordination, and real-time drone deployment to improve territorial resilience. It will also highlight the contribution of the Valencian innovation ecosystem and its commitment to developing technologies focused on citizen safety.
