From Smart Cities to the Citiverse: Europe’s Urban Digital Future

Cities are rapidly evolving into hubs of digital transformation, where artificial intelligence and digital twins play a central role in delivering smarter, more sustainable, and citizen-centric services. CitCom.ai, Europe’s Testing and Experimentation Facility (TEF) for citizen-centered AI, offers startups and companies a trusted environment to validate AI solutions for urban challenges. At the same time, the newly created European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC) on Local Digital Twins and the Citiverse, headquartered in Valencia, is laying the groundwork for interoperable and sovereign digital twin infrastructures across Europe.
This panel brings together international experts from both initiatives to highlight concrete opportunities for innovators, startups, and corporates. Attendees will discover how to access CitCom services today, and how the Citiverse will open new markets and collaborations tomorrow—making Europe a global leader in trustworthy urban digital innovation.

GSIC Testing Lab hosts sports tech startups to validate cutting-edge technologies, for startups testing products ,dynamize the sports tech community in the region and also provide softlanding spaces and strategies for startups testing new markets, aiming to attract talent and investment, and strengthen and internationalize the local ecosystem, leveraging GSIC global networks.

This unique phygital hub blends physical and virtual innovation to accelerate breakthrough solutions.

By fostering public-private collaboration and technology transfer, it positions València as a global sports innovation hotspot.
