More than 900 professionals from 60 different countries have applied to participate as speakers in the seventh edition of VDS, the international technology event organized by Startup Valencia, which will be held on October 23rd and 24th at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. These figures represent a 52% increase in the number of applications and a 26% increase in the number of countries compared to last year’s call.
More than half of the applications are from startups that have raised over 2 billion euros in funding. Additionally, 21% of the applications come from investors with assets under management worth over 10 billion euros.
Furthermore, half of the applicants are C-Level executives, that is, individuals holding senior management positions in their companies. More than a third of the total applications are from founders or co-founders of companies in the international innovation and technology sector.
Regarding the percentage of women who have applied to participate as speakers, nearly a third, 28%, are women. ‘Women in Tech’ is one of the highlighted themes of the technology event and aims to give visibility to female talent.
In terms of technologies, 20% operate with Artificial Intelligence, 15% with software, and 8% with Big Data. AI is also one of the key topics of the seventh edition of the technology event, where this technology will be analyzed from the perspective of its transformative capacity, the debate about its regulation, and the business opportunities it offers. Other key topics include sustainability, health, women in technology, the future of work, and the audiovisual sector.
The goal of these conferences is to analyze how the current technological revolution is positively impacting society. Under the motto ‘Embracing evolution: Invest in the leaders of tomorrow,’ the event aims to give a voice to the most prominent leaders in the global innovation and technology ecosystem. Additionally, it will emphasize the need to support and foster the innovators and visionaries who are shaping the future.
