Alessandra Sala is the Sr. Director of AI and Data Science at Shutterstock, with over 15 years of experience in both academic and commercial environments. Her expertise lies in advanced analytics, machine learning, and computational models, focusing on transferring innovation from research to practical applications.

As the Global President of Women in AI, she leads a community dedicated to fostering diversity, inclusion, and equality in AI. This organization aims to encourage a global ethical approach to AI that benefits society as a whole.

Additionally, she serves as the Co-Chair of the UNESCO Women in Ethical AI platform and the Governance Committee Chair at the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning. She was also the 2021 winner of the XV International Prize “Le Tecnovisionarie” in the AI – Industrial Research category.
