David Bäckström is a Swedish entrepreneur based in Barcelona, with a strong track record in building scalable businesses across healthcare and fintech.

He is the founder and CEO of seQura, a commerce-tech platform redefining how people access and experience payments. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a profitable fintech with €190M+ in revenue and €28M EBT, operating across multiple European markets.

Before seQura, David founded Telemedicine Clinic, one of Europe’s leading diagnostic imaging providers, which he later sold for €350M. Throughout his career, he has focused on building sustainable, high-growth companies grounded in strong fundamentals, risk discipline, and long-term value creation.

He is also known for fostering talent-driven organizations where entrepreneurial mindset and collective thinking drive performance.

Outside of work, he is a father of two and passionate about sports, particularly CrossFit.
