Dimitrios Katehakis

Dimitrios G. Katehakis is a leading figure in digital health, having overseen the design, testing, and deployment of over 400 EHR and digital health projects within Greece’s National Health System. His expertise extends to telemedicine, precision medicine, and the integration of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence technologies, with a focus on advancing innovative, integrated EHR services and fostering digital health ecosystems.

As Area Director, he has led the Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) at the Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) since 2010. He has held key roles in national and international organizations, including General Secretary of HL7 Hellas (2014-2024), the Hellenic Health Informatics Association (2018-2021), and the Hellenic Digital Health Cluster (since 2021).

Through his leadership at the smartHEALTH European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), Katehakis supports solution providers in accessing financing and translating innovations into practice across public and private healthcare sectors. He is an active contributor to EU-funded initiatives and international forums, widely recognized for driving digital transformation in healthcare.
