Eva Bataller is a seasoned professional in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, with a strong academic background and extensive experience in business development. She holds an MSc degree in Management in Life Sciences from Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and a biotechnology degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Throughout her academic journey, she specialized in areas such as business management and organization, project consultancy in the Dutch horticultural alliance Greenport West-Holland, pathology and molecular genetics at Valgenetics, and innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Valencia. These experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the intersections between science, business, and innovation.

In her professional career, Eva has made significant contributions to the biotechnology field, particularly through her work at Sakata Seeds, a multinational biotech company. Here, she engaged in collaborative projects that further honed her expertise in the biotech industry. Her entrepreneurial spirit is exemplified by her co-founding of ‘Grow Scientific Progress,’ a European citizens’ initiative aimed at proposing a new legal framework to revise Directive 2001/18/EC on new gene editing techniques. This initiative highlights her commitment to advancing the biotechnology sector and influencing policy to foster innovation.

Currently, Eva serves as the Business Development Manager at AgrotecUV, an Incubator of High Technology in Sustainable Agri-Food affiliated with the University of Valencia and its Science Park. In this role, she leverages her extensive knowledge and experience to drive the growth and success of innovative projects in the agri-food sector. Her work at AgrotecUV involves fostering collaborations, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting the development of cutting-edge technologies that contribute to the sustainability of the agri-food industry. Eva’s career is marked by a strong dedication to the advancement of life sciences and biotechnology, with a particular focus on sustainable and impactful innovations.
