With degrees in Computer Science, Marine Robotics, Naval Architecture, and Marine Engineering, he has studied in the USA, Norway, Chile, and Spain, and is currently completing a PhD in Marine Technology. His expertise is further recognized through his roles as Senior Member of the IEEE and active participant in the Marine Technology Society.
As CEO of MARINEROB, Javier has driven the company to the forefront of maritime innovation, focusing on automation, decarbonization, and sustainable solutions. He has founded and led several startups, supervised over 30 academic projects, and guided MARINEROB-UPV to historic achievements in international competitions. His leadership unites researchers, students, and industry professionals in advancing cutting-edge marine technologies.
Javier’s career is marked by numerous accolades, including recognition as a top skipper in the 32nd America’s Cup, multiple IEEE-OCEANS finalist awards, and high rankings in innovation competitions. He has led pioneering projects in marine robotics and served as lead researcher on the EU INTEMARES project, reinforcing his commitment to technological advancement and ocean stewardship.
