José María Torrego holds a degree in Journalism from Francisco de Vitoria University and a Master’s in Marketing and Commercial Management from the ESIC Business School. He began his professional career collaborating with the national newspapers La Razón and AS. In March 2009, he founded El Referente, a newspaper he currently directs, which pivoted in 2015 to become the leading publication in Spain focused on entrepreneurs and startups. He is also a partner at the tech company Aluxion and Co-founder of Al Andalus Innovation Venture, a flagship event for scaleups and open innovation in southern Spain.
