Juan Cumbrado Grande is the Director of Innovation at MAPFRE, where he leads the company’s global innovation strategy. After serving as CIO for MAPFRE in Latin America, he returned to Spain in 2019 to drive MAPFRE’s commitment to leadership in the insurance sector. With 23 years at MAPFRE, he has held key roles including CIO & COO LATAM NORTE, CIO Mapfre Mexico, Director of Digital Transformation, and Director of Globalization of IT and Processes.

He played a pivotal role in developing Mexico’s innovation ecosystem and is recognized for his expertise in Insurtech and Fintech worldwide. Juan is a pro bono mentor at Endeavor, MassChallenge, and Startbootcamp, collaborates with universities, and serves as an angel investor and advisor to startups in eHealth, Insurtech, Mobility, and Fintech. He has also been a jury member for innovation awards at various institutions.

Juan holds a Master’s in Industrial Organization, is an Industrial Engineer and Information Systems Engineer from ICAI, and has an MBA from the University of Alcalá de Henares. He completed executive programs at IE and is known for transforming business challenges into growth opportunities, supporting strategic decision-making, and fostering collaboration between corporations and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
