Juan Fuentes is the Director of the Global Sports Innovation Testing Lab in Valencia, recently appointed by GSIC Powered by Microsoft. He previously spent nine years as Head of International Expansion for LALIGA, leading growth across MENA and Northern Europe from bases in Cairo and Copenhagen. Juan is recognized for his expertise in sports tech consolidation, international development, and cross-border investment.

Beyond his executive roles, Juan is a cross-border investor and mentor in sports technology, advising VC funds and startup ecosystem players in Norway and Denmark. He co-chairs EBAN Sports, the European Business Angel Network’s sports investment committee, and was elected to the Nova 111 list for telecom, media, and entertainment talent in Spain.

Earlier in his career, Juan served as International Trade and Investment Advisor at ICEX in Cairo and as Editorial Manager for Oxford Business Group in the Philippines, with additional experience at BBVA and Cuatrecasas. He has published research with Harvard Business School, including a case study on LALIGA.
