Márcia Pereira is an accomplished leader in the field of sustainable energy, currently serving as the CEO and Co-Founder of Bandora, a pioneering startup focused on creating autonomous buildings through the application of Artificial Intelligence. With a solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lisbon, Márcia has built a career that bridges innovative technology and energy efficiency. Her current pursuit of a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems at FEUP, in collaboration with the MIT Portugal program, underscores her commitment to advancing the energy sector through cutting-edge research and development.
Throughout her career, Márcia has spearheaded numerous impactful projects that highlight her expertise and leadership in renewable energy. Among her notable achievements is the successful direction of a 1MW Concentrated Photovoltaic project in Évora, which showcases her ability to lead large-scale renewable energy initiatives. Additionally, her work on a 4kW micro hydropower system in Leiria and a 40kW standalone Photovoltaic project in Mozambique, which provided critical energy infrastructure to a maternity and radio station, further demonstrates her capability in executing complex energy solutions in diverse settings.
