Nacho Mateo is the CEO of South Summit since 2024, having been an integral part of the organization since 2014. Over the past decade, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the Startup Competition into a global platform, spearheading South Summit’s expansion into Latin America and Asia, and fostering robust connections within the innovation ecosystem.

With more than ten years dedicated to entrepreneurship and growth, Nacho also led IE University’s investor relations strategy and brand internationalization, combining education, innovation, and business development. His leadership at IE University from 2017 to 2024 was marked by a focus on growth and branding innovation.

Nacho’s international experience includes an executive training program in Tokyo led by the European Commission. As an active investor at BackFund since 2021, he supports top early-stage startups, further contributing to the entrepreneurial landscape.
