Interoperability Strategy Lead, Open & Agile Smart Cities and Communities
Sophie Meszaros is the Interoperability Strategy Lead at Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC), where she coordinates the development of Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs/MIMs Plus). She is also a researcher at imec-SMIT-VUB, focusing on trust in technology, data spaces, and local digital twins for smart cities. Her work bridges the gap between the reality and expectations of digital transformation in urban environments.
At the European level, Sophie serves on the coordination team of the DS4SSCC Preparatory and Deployment Actions and the Local Digital Twin for Smart Communities initiative. She is also the Technical Working Group Lead at Living-in.EU and project manager of Go-li.EU, contributing to EU priorities for smart communities, such as collaboration, social impact, and technological innovation.
Sophie’s main activities revolve around data spaces, testing and experimentation facilities, and stakeholder engagement. As author of the CitCom.ai TEF Market Report, she is dedicated to advancing open, interoperable solutions that empower cities and communities to deliver meaningful social impact through technology.
