Teemu Seppälä leads technology and innovation strategy at DEFINE Finland, the country’s defence and dual-use innovation ecosystem. In this role, he designs funding and acceleration mechanisms to help startups scale into defence markets, working across startups, investors, government and end-users to translate emerging technology into deployable capability.

Seppälä brings more than 25 years of experience in innovation ecosystems, having worked across over 40 countries. His career has focused on coaching companies, building ecosystem infrastructure and translating policy frameworks into practical outcomes. At DEFINE Finland, he applies this experience to strengthening the connection between commercial innovation and national defence needs.
