Dr. Aitor Llano Torre is an architect and researcher specializing in sustainable construction materials and maritime infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Concrete Engineering and currently leads innovation projects at Rover Grupo’s R&D department. His work focuses on developing advanced concrete mixtures using recycled materials aiming to reduce carbon emissions and improve structural resilience.
Aitor has coordinated multiple national and European R&D initiatives, including the COMAR project on recycled glass fiber concrete, Living Reefs for artificial reef development, and MAINCRETE for UHPC-based marine structure rehabilitation. He collaborates closely with universities, public authorities, and technology centers, and is known for his hands-on approach to prototyping, field testing, and technical documentation.
